Music Festival Fundraiser

About the Event
Sunday 8th August 2021
Mossley AFC is proud to announce a day of music and spoken word in aid of Time 2 Talk mental health charity. In collaboration with acclaimed and Local spoken word artist Jack Horner aka Leon the pig farmer and wet lemon productions, the football club are intent on continuing their pledge to raise the awareness of mental health within the community. And both Leon and wet lemon are some of the town’s front runners in this campaign.
The event will see Leon the pig farmer bring together a collection of his fellow spoken word artists and musicians’ friends to provide a day full of entertainment and raise funds for Manchester-based charity Time 2 Talk. This event comes on the back of a successful and well attended two-day local book launch of Jacks self-published book “talking Myself out of trouble”. A collection of verse around mental health recovery with illustration by local artist Phil Wagstaff.
Expect great acoustic musicians interspersed with a rollercoaster of the witty wry and topical spoken word. This will be poetry at its most contemporary and energetic with appearances from some of Manchester’s most well-known open mic nights.
The lineup is soon to be announced but expect a variety of wordsmiths and musicians that will entertain through the 8-hour festival of arts. And what better backdrop than the rolling hills and a pitchside view with an intimate beer garden and patio.
Tickets are limited at this stage as they will be seated and full covid restrictions have yet to be confirmed. Jacks last two events in Mossley at the Old bank studios were at capacity so book early to avoid any disappointment.
Mossley AFC and Leon the Pig Farmer look forward to seeing you!!
Tickets are £10 in aid of Time 2 Talk
